3. COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA WHEN VISITING OUR WEBSITE

When you visit our website, our web server will temporarily store the connection data of the requesting computer (IP address), the pages you visit on our website, the date and length of your visit, the identification data of your browser and operating system and, if applicable, the website from which you navigated to our website. This enables our website to function.

You may contact ÄVWL through several ways, such as our contact form or email address. You may also transmit your data by mail or in person. If you contact us electronically, any personal data will be entered by you voluntarily (on the legal basis of point (a) of Article 6 (1) of the GDPR). The following data may be stored:

  • Salutation, name, first name, title, member number, membership status, sex, email address, street, house number, ZIP code, city, country, telephone number, subject, message, timestamp, username, IP address.

When contacting us via email or our contact form, data you disclose voluntarily must be stored for us to process your inquiry.

Processed personal data we receive via email or our contact form will be erased when its storage is no longer necessary for your pursued purposes or for the initiated administrative processes subject to the storage obligations.

We explicitly note that data you transmit to contact us may include particularly sensitive information about your mental or physical health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership in a union or political party or about your sex life. By transmitting such data to us, you explicitly consent to ÄVWL collecting, processing and using this data to contact you. This data will be processed in compliance with this Privacy Policy and other applicable laws.

Before contacting us by email, please consider that data transmissions via the Internet may not ensure the confidentiality of transmitted information. We therefore recommend sending us confidential messages by mail.

5. APPLICATION PROCESS

Applicant data is only processed for the purpose and as part of the application process. We only process applicant data to take steps prior to entering into a contract pursuant to point (b) of Article 6 (1) of the GDPR and Section 18 (1) of the North Rhine-Westphalian Data Protection Act. The application process requires applicants to disclose personal data. The necessary data is specified by the job offer. Furthermore, applicants may disclose additional data voluntarily. By submitting an application, applicants consent to the processing of their data for purposes of the application process. Any special categories of personal data disclosed during the application process voluntarily will be processed in compliance with point (b) of Article 9 (2) of the GDPR.

6. DATA TRANSFERS TO THIRD PARTIES

We use personal data for internal purposes as part of our relationship with members. Such data is only transferred to third parties as permitted by law. Personal data is only collected and transferred to authorised public institutions and authorities in compliance with applicable laws or if ordered by a court. Our employees and commissioned service providers are committed to confidentiality and compliance with data protection.

7. USE OF COOKIES

Our website uses session cookies. Cookies are small amounts of data placed on your computer by a website operator. Data is stored in cookies (e.g. in navigation) to perform certain functions of our website. Temporary cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser and only contain an identification number (session ID) that allows our server to assign consecutive requests of a browser to the same user. 8. USE OF ANALYSIS SERVICES (MATOMO) 

Our website uses Matomo, a so-called web analysis service. Matomo uses so-called “cookies,” i.e., small text files that are placed on your computer and enable us to analyse how our website is used. For this purpose, usage information (including your shortened IP address) generated by cookies will be transmitted to our servers and stored for analysis purposes to optimise our website. Your IP address will be anonymised immediately and you will remain anonymous to us as user. The information generated by cookies on your use of our website will not be transferred to third parties, but automatically erased after 4 weeks. You may also actively delete cookies on your browser.

Your use of our website will only be analysed with your explicit consent. You may grant your consent on the cookie banner when opening our website. To use our protected area, you must register on our member portal.

We will only collect the data necessary for registration. Our website features links to third-party websites.

We are not liable for third-party websites. Their content and compliance with data protection requirements are the responsibility of the operator. We will immediately remove such links when learning of infringements.

11. NEWSLETTER

You may subscribe to our newsletter on our website. Please note that subscriptions require certain data to provide your desired information.
